Kids' Shoe Size Converter

Convert children's shoe sizes across US, UK and EU, with foot length and a typical age โ€” for babies, toddlers and older kids. Measure the foot; age is only a rough guide.

Measure, don't guess by age. Children's feet grow up to a full size every 2โ€“3 months when young, and ill-fitting shoes can harm developing feet. Measure the foot, add about 1.2 cm growing room, and check the brand โ€” athletic brands often run small, casual brands large.

How to measure little feet

  1. Stand, don't sit

Measure standing โ€” weight spreads the foot to its true size. Heel against a wall, or use our printable foot ruler.

  2. Heel to longest toe

Mark the longest toe (not always the big toe) and measure from the heel in cm.

  3. Add growing room

Add about 1.2 cm so there's room to grow without the shoe being a trip hazard.

  4. Re-check often

Check the fit every 2โ€“3 months for toddlers โ€” red marks or curled toes mean it's time to size up.

How these conversions are calculated

Kids' shoe sizes are anchored to foot length in centimetres. EU equals the US kids' size plus 17; UK runs about half a size below US. Age bands are typical averages only โ€” children's feet grow up to a full size every 2-3 months when young, so always measure the foot (add ~1.2 cm growing room) and check the brand, as athletic brands often run small and casual brands large.

Sources: Cross-checked kids' shoe charts (kiwisizing, blitzresults, sizefit, wearview, 2026); EU = US + 17 relationship; UK โ‰ˆ US โˆ’ 0.5 (verified across sources); Age bands: typical averages โ€” feet vary, so measure the child's foot.
