How to measure & use it
Bust / chest
Measure around the fullest part with arms relaxed, tape level and snug but not tight โ or use our printable tape.
Waist
Measure the narrowest part of the torso, usually just above the belly button.
Hips
Measure the fullest part of the seat, standing naturally with feet together.
Use the biggest controlling measurement
For a dress, the largest of bust/waist/hip decides the size. Size up if you're between, or if the fabric has no stretch.

How do I find my clothing size from body measurements?
Measure your bust/chest, waist and hips with a soft tape, then enter the controlling measurement (the largest for the garment) above. The converter returns the closest standard size in every system.
What is a US 8 in UK clothing?
A women's US 8 is typically a UK 12 and an EU 38 (roughly an international M), but cuts vary by brand, so use the bust/waist/hip figures as your anchor.
Why does the same labelled size fit differently between brands?
Brands use different fit blocks and apply vanity sizing, so a single label can vary by up to a full size. The body measurements are the reliable reference, not the number on the tag.
Should I size up between clothing sizes?
If you're between sizes, size up for non-stretch fabrics or a looser fit, and consider the controlling measurement (for example hips for a fitted dress).
How these conversions are calculated
Women's sizes use the standard regional offsets (UK = US + 4, EU = US + 32, AU = UK) anchored to typical bust/waist/hip measurements in cm. Men's tops are anchored to chest measurement. Because clothing has no universal physical standard, brands differ by up to a full size โ the body measurement is the real answer, so measure yourself and check the brand's own chart before buying.
